Volunteering as Farmers for a Day

Before the weather turns too cold, Instron took part in helping a local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm to prepare for the winter season.

On a scenic landscape filled with historic woodlands, animal barns, and planted fields, Powisset Farm sits on 108.5 acres of land. The surrounding community relies on the crop produced at this bustling and wholesome place. Each year, Powisset Farm donates more than 7,000 pounds of fresh produce to local food pantries and food banks in addition to a 350+ share CSA program.

The Community Connection Committee (C3) at Instron brought a group of volunteers to partner with The Trustees of Reservations at this local organization. Working in the fields, the team broke down 2,400 yards of tomatoes and harvested pounds of garlic. The Instron group was proud to help such an inspiring program and take some time away from their busy workdays to support this commendable initiative.
