Instron has a legacy of building systems that last for decades under severe operations conditions. In fact, the average age of an Instron machine that we service is 18 years. Given proper preventative maintenance, the physical load frame will last an indefinite period of time, but older systems benefit greatly by adding new operating software, or a complete electrical retrofit.
